João Gilberto
CO-FOUNDER AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Forestry Engineer, specialist in Integrated Management of Socio-ecological Production Systems and Master in Organic Agriculture. He has worked in the area for over 15 years, taught courses and implemented agroforests with indigenous people, quilombolas, family farmers, in universities and large-scale areas in the Amazon, Cerrado, Pantanal, Caatinga and Atlantic Forest biomes. Internationally, it has already developed agroforestry actions in the United States, Cape Verde, Chile and Madagascar. He is a founding partner of International Agroforestry.

Murilo de Lima
CO-FOUNDER AND Agroforestry Expert

Agroforester, biologist, with a master’s degree in Ecology and Environment, has practice in implementing and managing Agroforestry Systems in different biomes and in some countries. He began studying and putting into practice the principles of Agroforestry taught by Ernst Götsch in 2008. Experience with renewable resource management in traditional communities in the Amazon. He is a founding partner of Agrosintropia, where he works as a consultant and speaker. Technical director and founding partner of Syntropia Hub

Thiago Barbosa
Co-Founder and Agroforestry Educator

Thiago is an Syntropic Agroforestry pioneer in Australia who for the past 10 years has been spreading the knowledge of this unique food production and land management technique.

Driven by a deep respect for the natural world, Thiago has guided countless individuals, from backyard gardeners to farmers to transition from conventional to more ecologically sound practices.

Beyond his practical expertise, Thiago is also a gifted teacher and communicator. His engaging workshops and talks have inspired audiences across Australia and around the world. His enthusiasm is contagious, and he encourages everyone around him to take action toward a brighter, greener future.

Ana Bovoy
Agroforestry Project Designer

Agroforester and bee breeder, they have an academic background in Environmental Engineering with a Master’s degree in Forest Restoration with a focus on the preservation of pollinators from ESALQ – USP. It is part of the NGO Mutirão Agroflorestal. In the SAF ABELHA project, we research and study plant species beneficial to bees and their arrangements in agroforestry systems, considering that when we plant for bees we make it possible to manage their resources in a sustainable way. Shares knowledge about bees through courses and consultancies throughout Brazil.

Pedro Faria Lopes

Senior Agoforestry Project Designer AND Agroforestry Educator

Forestry Engineer (UnB) and master in agricultural engineering (UEG), he met Ernst Götsch in 2009 and has worked with training and implementation of agroforestry systems since 2011, participating in the implementation of SAFs in several Brazilian biomes. Internationally, he has developed agroforestry actions in Mozambique, Colombia, Chile and Mexico, is a rural producer, consultant, speaker and agroforestry educator. He currently holds the position of Chief Project Officer at Agrosintropia, where he leads projects for the development, planning and implementation of agroforestry systems.Graduated in Economics from PUC Goiás, he is studying an Executive MBA in Leadership and Business Management, he has been working with the implementation and supervision of Agroforestry Systems (SAFs) and Organic Vegetable Farming using the Agroforestry Systems technique since 2015. He is a Founding Partner of Agrosintropia where he also works as a technician field.

Andrei Pereira
Agroforestry Project Designer AND Agroforestry Expert

Agricultural Engineer, Master’s student in Organic Agriculture (UFRRJ). He has experience with agroforestry systems since 2016. He worked in the production and marketing of organic fruits and vegetables in San Diego, California, as well as in Brazil. Works with technical assistance in SAFs and organic agriculture serving small to large-scale producers. Works in the development and management of agroforestry projects, technical and economic feasibility analysis of SAF modeling, as well as supervision and writing of projects in this context.

Sandara Passos
Agroforestry Project Designer

Experience in Landscape Architecture, featuring both architectural elements and a strong focus on graphic representation and sensory plant selection. Passionate about seeking innovative and sensitive architectural solutions that respond to human needs.

With over seven years of experience in Landscape Architecture, featuring both architectural elements and a strong focus on native plant selection, her keen eye for detail and precision has enabled her to work alongside one of Melbourne’s most renowned landscape and horticulture firms.

Her work is rooted in the connection of people, places and nature and she has a strong interest in environmental planning and sustainability.

Ricardo Pagliarini
Agroforestry Expert

Graduated in Economics from PUC Goiás, he is studying an Executive MBA in Leadership and Business Management, he has been working with the implementation and supervision of Agroforestry Systems (SAFs) and Organic Vegetable Farming using the Agroforestry Systems technique since 2015. He is a Founding Partner of Agrosintropia where he also works as a technician field.

Mauricio Vigano
Senior Agoforestry Project Designer

Mauricio is a mechanical engineering graduate with 11 years of experience in the oilfield and electrical component industries. He discovered a passion for agriculture in 2017 after attending a course by Ernst Gotsch. Since then, he has immersed himself in learning and practicing organic agriculture, syntropic agroforestry, and biodynamic agriculture.

Mauricio strives to create ever-improving food forest designs, combining plants with different functions and growth habits to foster a rich and diverse environment. Each project receives his dedicated attention on selecting plants and arrangements to best suit the site’s location and the client’s preferences.

Besides his work at Syntropic Solutions, Mauricio contributes to the annual edition of the biodynamic astronomical calendar used by farmers throughout Brazil and Latin America. He also enjoys tending to his agroforestry paddock and working at nearby farms during winter pruning, sowing time, or harvesting season.

Gabriel Gianolla
Project Manager

Gabriel has always been immersed in sales, customer services, and business development. His innate ability to swiftly establish rapport with individuals has enabled him to excel in a wide variety of teams and settings.

Transitioning from maintenance to sustainable development has instilled in Gabriel a profound respect for the significance of conserving nature’s core essence while advancing toward a more eco-friendly future.

With Syntropic Solutions, Gabriel adopts a comprehensive approach to each project, emphasizing not just aesthetics but also the enduring effects on the environment and communities.

Rodrigo Pierini
Agroforestry Expert

With certifications in Agriculture and Horticulture and over nine years of hands-on farming experience, Rodrigo stands as a distinguished figure in the field, particularly recognised for his efforts in Syntropic Agroforestry.

His expertise and dedication to regenerative agriculture have not only ensured a continuous supply of fresh, organic produce for local communities but have also sparked a ripple effect of empowerment among fellow farmers.
